Guide to Applying to LASALLE College of the Arts as an International Student for an Undergraduate Degree

English Proficiency Test Requirements:
Since the primary language of instruction at LASALLE College of the Arts is in English, you must present proof of your proficiency. However, Indian applicants can get away without appearing for any English language proficiency test if they have done their 12th standard from the CBSE board with three subject passes, including English, at Grade A1-C2 or if they have done their 12th standard from the CISCE board with three subject passes, including English, at Grade 1-6. But in case you don’t satisfy these requirements, you are obliged to submit an English language proficiency test score exceeding the minimum score as mentioned below.

- 6.0 and above on the IELTS Academic.
- 50 and above on the PTE Academic.
ACT/SAT Requirements:
As LASALLE College of the Arts is a contemporary art and design institution, there are no SAT/ACT requirements. In lieu, you are obliged to share your portfolio and appear for an interview. The specifics of which depend upon the specialization you are aspiring for. But, for some courses like animation, you might have to appear for a university-level admissions test.
Tuition Fee and Cost of Living:

Applicants can apply to the LASALLE College of the Arts via its online application portal or physically via its overseas representatives available across Asia. The application fee (international) if you apply via their website is S$ 120 (₹ 6,575.55), and if you apply physically via overseas representatives S$ 1500 (₹ 82,194.34).
For Tuition Grant (TG), you have to make an online application and then sign the TG Deed with the Government of Singapore. Under the terms of the TG Deed, you will be required to work for a Singapore entity for a period of three years upon graduation.Â

Portfolio:
Your portfolio is a pivotal aspect of your application, based upon which your acceptance depends. Your portfolio must include 10-15 pieces of your creative work that demonstrates your skills and expertise. You can add sketches, 2D rendering skills, graphic design work, fabric sketches, portraits, short films, screenplays, poems, romantic music recordings, a Baroque, a Jazz performance, digital images, 3 D designs, and whatever that’s relevant to the course you are applying for.Â
Audition:
While for some courses, you might get away just by sharing your portfolio, for courses like acting, you have to prepare to perform two contrasting speeches from memory. One of the speeches should be from a Shakespearean play and the other from a more contemporary play, in standard modern English. The combined duration of the speeches should be 5–7 minutes. You will be assessed based on your acting, vocal, and movement abilities.Â
Interview:
During the interview, you must be prepared to participate in a task related to the content in your portfolio. Apart from that, you will have to engage in an interaction regarding your work, influences, motivation, interests, how you think the program will help you in your future career choices, etc. Also, if it’s not feasible for you to physically attend the interview at LASALLE, an online interview shall be arranged for you.
