  • 3, 4 or 5 in the AP examination in English Language and Composition, or English Literature and Composition 
  • 6 or 7 in the IB Standard Level examination in English (Language A only) 
  • 5, 6 or 7 in the IB Higher Level examination in English (Language A only) 
  •  6.5 or above in the IELTS academic
  •  Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination:
       – Internet-based test (iBT): 80 or above
       – Paper-delivered test: 60 or above
  •  Duolingo English Test (DET): 115 or above

Note: You’re required to take one of these exams by December of your final year in high school/secondary school. 

 

ACT/SAT Requirements

 Like the other UC Campuses, the University of California, Riverside will not consider ACT or SAT scores in the admissions or scholarships process. The university will make the admission decision after conducting a comprehensive review of your application. However, if you submit any standardized test scores, they may be used as an alternative method to fulfill minimum eligibility requirements or course placement purposes after your enrolment.   6. Think about an academic subject that inspires you. Describe how you have furthered this interest inside and/or outside of the classroom.
  7. What have you done to make your school or your community a better place?
  8. Beyond what has already been shared in your application, what do you believe makes you stand out as a strong candidate for admission to the University of California?
