Trent University is a public liberal arts university in Peterborough, Ontario, with a satellite campus in Oshawa, Durham. Since its inception, the university has given two Nobel prize winners, renowned Rhodes Scholars, who have received Rhodes International Postgraduate Award. It’s known for its Oxbridge college system (a portmanteau of Oxford and Cambridge), small class sizes with an exceptional student-to-faculty ratio. English Proficiency Test Requirements

As the primary language of instruction is English, so all students are obliged to demonstrate exceptional proficiency in the English language. Applicants whose native language is not English are obliged to submit proof of their English language proficiency by either meeting or exceeding the standards set by the university.   • 86 and above on the TOEFL iBT, with a minimum writing score of 20.
  • 6.5 and above with no band below 6.0 on the IELTS Academic.
  • 59 and above on the PTE Academic.

 

ACT/SAT Requirements

Indian applicants are not obliged to submit SAT/ACT scores. However, you must present your standard X and XII marks with no less than a 70% score in both. Having said that, if you are from the USA, it’s recommended that you submit either SAT/ACT scores with a GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in the academic grade 12 program.

 

Tuition Fee and Cost of Living

Paying tuition as an international student at Trent University can get expensive. However, there are tons of scholarships, bursaries, prizes, and awards available that can slash your expenditure by a significant margin. If you are an international student and Trent University is the only university in Ontario you are applying to, then a direct application costing 90 CAD (₹ 5328.27) is the way to go. However, if you are an international student applying to multiple universities in Ontario, then you might want to apply via the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC). The base application via OUAC fee costs 156 CAD (₹ 9220.65) for your initial three program choices, and for every additional program, you must pay a surcharge of 50 CAD/choice (₹ 2955.34).
