English language proficiency tests are mandatory for applicants belonging to a country where English is not the native language. TOEFL (iBT), IELTS, Duolingo English Test, and PTE Academic are the English Proficiency tests accepted at GW. The minimum scores set by the university are:
- 90 and above on the TOEFL iBT
- 6.5 and above on the IELTS
- 115 and above on the Duolingo English Test
- 61 and above on the Pearson Test of English Academic
These language proficiency requirements can be waived under either of the two circumstances:
- If you have achieved a minimum score of 650 in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section of the SAT, or
