Certainly, applying to as many universities as possible would increase your chances of getting in. But applications to universities can be very expensive and it would not make any financial sense to apply to a large number of universities at random, so creating a university list is important. Estimates of costs

If you choose to apply to universities in the province of Ontario, you would apply through the provincial portal called OUAC (Ontario Universities’ Application Centre). Including the base fees, international application fees and individual university fees, you might have to pay approximately 500 Canadian Dollars (25,000 Indian Rupees). Applying to more universities means you will have to pay an additional of 50 Canadian Dollars + the universities’ individual fees which range anywhere from 70 to 100 Canadian Dollars.

  • and, safety net universities (Ones that you would not mind getting into and there is a fair chance of acceptance)
